Biography
Katonya Douglas professionally known as Kitty Kat was born in Baltimore, Maryland, but currently calls Charlotte, North Carolina home. She is a National Gold Key Honor Society Graduate of Morgan State University, and currently holds her Bachelor of Science Degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Kitty Kat has been writing and performing as a poetic lyricist for over a decade. She is also a published author of two bestselling titles, Plantation Sweetness (as Katonya Davis-Gibson) and Cocaine Cowgirl.
Her latest musically artistic body of work, “I Am Kitty Kat,” not only showcases her professional writing talents, but also encompasses her lyrical Prowess. Her raw lyrics derive from a place of knowledge, pain, peace, growth, self-awareness, and love.
Even though her music catalog is commonly only available on Sound Cloud, Kitty Kat has a very impressive industry resume. Most notably, she has performed on the famed Coast2Coast platform as well as their Direct2Exec Internet platform, where she was able to get her music in front of Atlantic and Capital Records, respectively. The video for her single “Blanco Baby” was able to garner over 100,000 views in three weeks on YouTube, and her single “5 Star D” was projected to be next up on Chezzy Boy TV.
